YCN Transportation, Inc. is a family owned business headquartered in Norwood, MA and has been incorporated since 1962. YCN has provided transportation for DMR clients, DPH children, and special needs transportation students. Since 1962, the YCN fleet has traveled over 150 million miles and completed over 12 million passenger trips. Today, YCN operates a fleet of over 300 vehicles throughout the Metropolitan/Boston area. Currently, YCN employs approximately 300 employees. YCN has earned an outstanding reputation for delivering service with a high quality of care, compassion, and safety.
YCN Transportation Inc. transports special needs students to and from school in a safetly and timely manner. We provide the perfect working environment for retired individuals and men and woman 25 years of age and older. If you enjoy working with children and love to drive, Y.C.N. provides an opportunity to combine both.
Routes run between the hours of 6:00am and 9:00am and then begin again between the hours of 1:00pm and run until 5:00pm (these aer the times you must be available). Routes are split shifts and require a commitment of 20-35 hours per week. Drivers have the opportunity to take vehicles home with them and start their routes right from home if they work and AM and PM shift.
*A 7-D license is required and is the license to transport school children, and needed to be a driver. Before going to the RMV to take the exam, you must have a physical from your doctor (in the last 3 months) and have them fill out the last page of the 7-D application completely. —> All of the RMV and 7-D links, manuals, and applications are posted below.
**To be considered, you MUST: Be at least 25 years of age, have a MA driver’s license, be able to provide a social security card/passport/birth certificate, have or obtain a 7-D license, and provide a copy of your driving record from the past 30 days which you can get at the Registry of Motor Vehicles ($20) OR on the registry website ($6) https://secure.rmv.state.ma.us/DrvRecords/intro.aspx. Each vehicle comes with a gas card, fuel is provided by the company, not the driver. Every vehicle is also on a routine maintenance schedule so that vehicles run safely and at the highest quality.
***Work is all part time and available year round and available throughout the summer vacation (M-F).
